IFEC Zone drives expansion at AIX

Around 20,000 delegates including at least a thousand airline representatives and over 500 exhibitors are about to descend on Hamburg in Germany for the leading interiors showcase, Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX).

With 100 exhibitors, the IFEC Zone has become a leading event for IFE content and service providers. This year the Zone will feature 18 new exhibitors including Philotech, LiteAir Aviation Products and Otonomy Aviation.
Event director Polly Magraw says, ‘2017 is set to be a landmark year for AIX, with record growth from both new and existing exhibitors, much of it in our burgeoning IFEC zone.’
As a whole more than 500 companies as well as 55 new exhibitors will be at this year’s AIX. This includes longstanding exhibitors such as Airbus, B/E Aerospace, Boeing, Inmarsat, Panasonic Avionics and Zodiac as well as newer entrants such as seating companies Accro and Mirus.
Organised by Reed Exhibitions, AIX co-locates with World Travel Catering and the Passenger Experience Week.
This year the IFEC Zone covers four areas: Hall 2B, 3B, 4B Upper and 4B Lower. Exhibitors with the largest floor space are Panasonic Avionics, Thales, Gogo, Inmarsat, Astronics, Zodiac and Rockwell Collins. These are accommodated in 4B lower, 3B and 2B.
Upstairs in 4B Upper is a nucleus of content service providers and digital content integration companies. These include established CSP’s like Inflight Dublin and DMD as well as newer market entrants such as Smartsky Networks and Immfly. The expansion of this area with high density smaller stands signifies the increasing emergence and expansion of digital content, software and integration technologies as an inherent part of the IFEC market.
